FAQS

What is the Imagine Conference?

We’re a gathering of people who are daring to imagine what our city, nation, and world could look like if we lived out the extraordinary love of Jesus. We’re deeply committed to issues of justice, orphan care, refugees, racial reconciliation, and seeing all life as beautifully created in the image of a loving God. We seek to engage our culture by loving our neighbors near and far.

I’ve never been before. Would the conference benefit me?

Whether you’re just beginning to lean into this idea of what it looks like to love your neighbors, or you’ve been deeply involved for years and are feeling tired and discouraged, there’s something for you.

We know that serving others isn’t simple. Race, socioeconomics, the brokenness of our world, and the feeling that it’s all just too complex to effect any change can make living out this extraordinary calling challenging. But Jesus didn’t add a footnote to “love your neighbor” saying, “when it’s easy and comfortable.” He left us here on earth to be the ones who carry His light to the world. If you’re anywhere on this spectrum, the Imagine Conference is for you!

What can I expect the conference to be like?

At the Imagine Conference, you can expect high-energy worship, a nationally known keynote speaker, individuals sharing their life-changing stories, highly educational breakouts and workshops, representatives from 30+ local and national organizations, time to connect with others with similar passions, and a delicious, complementary breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Come ready to be inspired, challenged, and equipped to make a difference in your world.

What types of breakouts are offered?

The breakout sessions are your opportunity to really dig deep. Whether you’re considering adoption, seeking to understand the cycle of human trafficking, learn what the needs are for refugees in our city, or wondering how to make a difference in the life of a woman facing an unexpected pregnancy there will be many breakouts of interest to you. From students to retirees and ministry leaders to moms you’ll be able to choose from 15+ breakouts. Check back soon to see our list of breakouts for this year’s conference.

Do you provide food and drinks for the day?

We provide a continental breakfast including coffee, juice, fruit, and pastries on Saturday morning before the first breakout session. For lunch you’ll be served a delicious boxed lunch consisting of a sandwich, chips, fruit and bottled water.

We can provide a vegetarian option as long as you request it at registration. If you have food allergies or sensitivities that would preclude you from enjoying these options, you are welcome to bring in food from home or other local restaurants in the area.

Is childcare available?

Unfortunately, no. We encourage you to find a babysitter for your young children, bring your teens, and lean in to fully enjoy the two-day experience.  Please note we welcome your children at the conference, and many families enjoy the Friday night experience together, just be aware that some topics covered specifically during Saturday’s breakouts could be sensitive for young ears.

Do you offer foster/adoptive parent training credits?

Many foster and adoptive agencies do honor attendance at the Imagine Conference toward your continuing training hours. Please be sure to contact your agency in advance of the conference to make sure. We are happy to sign any attendance forms your agency would need, or you can email connect@imagineconferencepgh.com and we will send you a certificate of attendance after the fact.
